About the event
A soundbath (also known as sound meditation) is the practice of mindfully listening to sounds. It is a form of yoga known as "Nāda yoga" or unity with the universal vibrational current. Soundbaths create a calm mind-body flow state that can be used for many purposes; rejuvination, relaxation, stress reduction, spiritual development, balancing and connecting the mind and body, aiding emotional regulation, enhancing creativity to name a few. This is done through techniques of entrainment to gently shift people into a theta and delta brainwave states. Theta is a calm state similar to meditation, daydreaming or light sleep. Delta is usually only produced while in a deep and signals the body to heal itself.
In a soundbath, Nicholas will use a variety of crystal and metal Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, tuning forks, drumming, and other instruments to create a gentle, dynamic soundscape to facilitate these healing experiences. Ever curious, Nicholas works as a scientist, sound healer, shaman and instrument maker with certifications in soundhealing, reiki and hypnotherapy. He actively seeks out other states of consciousness (OSC) and methods of facilitating them.

About the Instructor
Nicholas’ discovery and journey into the healing properties of sound started in 2010 while searching for a method to treat his issues with chronic depression. Not wanting to take medication constantly, he saught alternative methods that aligned with his spiritual practices. It was when he first encountered a Himalayan singing bowl, the sound of which struck him like lightning and opened him up to their medicine. They were paramount on his healing journey and continue to be, which led him to start studing in 2014 with the Sage Academy of Soundhealing located in Woodstock , NY where he continues to be a facilitator/teacher with them. Nicholas offers private sound therapy out of OmShanti healing arts located in Castleton, NY.
